The IV Group / Sunday, 14 March 2010 13:17 |

Toronto, ON- It was a long time in the making!
TRUEFAITH is set to stage their North American tour with dates in May and June of 2010. Their performance will surely enthrall their North American fans that are eagerly waiting for this time to come! The entire band with songs that has captured fan hearts and memories in their lives will be performing all their hits, live! With its blend of jazz, folk, pop and rock, TRUEFAITH is responsible for hits like Perfect, Awit Para Sa Kanya, Dahil Ikaw, Alaala, Muntik Nang Maabot Ang Langit, Ambon, Kung OK Lang Sa ‘Yo and Kundi Rin Lang Ikaw. With brothers Medwin and Eugene Marfil on lead vocals and acoustic guitar, respectively, together with Allan Elgar on lead guitar, Bimbo Yance on bass guitar, Jake Lumacad on keyboards, Benedict Esguerra on drums, the band will definitely rock the crowd with their hit songs one after the other! For most of the “Faithfools”, it will be a nostalgic trip down memory lane. But there’s really nothing surprising about this. After all, they’re certainly not your regular band, they are TRUEFAITH. To date, TRUEFAITH has released a dozen albums since 1993’s Perfect. The band’s breezy pop formula eventually matured into a sound that is edgier and more contemporary but which did not change the band’s appeal to its listeners. The band is currently recording their new album under Viva records. The new album titled, “Love Parade for the Life Brigade” is slated for release by February 2010. Highly anticipated, “Love Parade” will feature an eclectic mix of special guests from soul prince, Luke Mejares, saxophone wiz, Dix Lucero (on the 80’s influenced inspirational track, Kaya Mo ‘Yan) and Time magazine- hailed artists: Carlos Magno of the superb band Out Of Body Special and Armi Millare of critics darlings, Up Dharma Down. The latter sings on the upcoming first single, Yun Lang, a new wave-y, dance-your-socks-off number which will surely create a storm in the music scene. New songs that will definitely make the crowd excited and the listener in awe as TRUEFAITH sings all their hit songs to their Canadian fans! Watch out for your TRUEFAITH! It may only happen once! Tinolapalooza is a music event catered to local Filipino-Canadian talents in the GTA and other surrounding cities. It was founded in 2006 by Minerva Records, which has since evolved into what is now known as the MStudio. 2010 marks the third Tinolapalooza in history, the second being in 2008. The event is intended to bring people in the Filipino community (and other cultures as well) together through music and, at the same time, showcase the many different talents that the city has to offer. This music festival of sorts has featured bands such as Vultocazhe, Noizytoyz, and Out of Luck – all of whom are veterans of the indie music scene whose music have been used in television commercials and have had radio airplay both here in Toronto and in the Philippines. Fly me to the moon - February 2010 Concert in Mississauga |

Saturday, 20 February 2010 19:00 |

Submitted by: Chat Bautista Written By: Raymond Gardiner --- What a superb night to remember as Kalayaan Cultural Centre and Studio Six Productions collaborated a Valentine concert , “Fly me to the Moon” which featured Miss Josie de Leon back to back with Mr . Jules Tinsay . The evening started with a sumptuous dinner feast catered by Corey B. People were then serenaded by the charming Pamela Marucot assisted by Randy Quizon on their acoustic numbers . Jazz lovers were thrilled when the debonaire Rommel Billanes sang his songs. The main event was well anticipated when Musical Director RJ Rodriguez played the opening song , “Don’t go Breaking My Heart “ with full energy . Miss Josie de Leon started the evening with her French rendition of the song “La Vie En Rose “ followed by the song “LOVE” that gave the audience a chance to sing along with her. Miss de Leon then sang & shared her love story through the well arranged “Carpenters Medley” –that left Royal Mark Canada’s Lito Ronquillo say “Josie was not afraid of re-living her love life, it indeed made her a very strong person “ Funny but classy Miss de Leon, called in two potential suitors in the audience and put them on the spot asking them outrageous questions that made the audience burst into laughter! She ended her set by honouring all the married couples with her sentimental version of the song “ I do.” Special guest that night was amazing actor & singer , Mr . Leander Mendoza who rendered jaw dropping numbers , “Music of the Night “ and “Love Changes Everything “ . Of course that night would not be complete without a duet number from the two greats, Josie and Leander, as they the sang “ Almost Paradise” from the movie “Footloose.” Mr. Jules Tinsay is a suave & natural entertainer , he opened up his segment with the song “ Weekend in New England” followed by “Beautiful in My Eyes”. He then danced with the crowd by singing one of the late 80’s hit song “ You to Me are Everything , and Michael Buble songs, “ Sway “ and “Save the last Dance for Me.” The five artists closed the show with a group number “ Fly me to the Moon” and soon the full house crowd were found on the dance floor with music provided by Chito Carbonell and Bobby Sunico. The successful concert fundraiser benefited Kalayaan Centre. Other sponsors of the event were Action Honda, Belle Optical, Richmond Hill Honda, and Bodybliss. Studio Six Productions headed by CEO Chat Bautista , sees to it that a quality concert for our local talents should be supported by the Fil- Canadian community .I encourage everyone to see and hear these artists , you will be amazed and proud to call them ‘our very own’. |
